The first Monday in May is a documentary film that follows the creation of the Metropolitan museum of Art’s “China Through the Looking Glass” exhibition, by Curator Andrew Bolton. The Director of the film was Andrew Rossi who had unprecedented access to this process. In the film he was able to capture the juxtaposition  and collision of high fashion and celebrity at the Metropolitan Gala. The film also  opens  the debate about whether fashion should be viewed as art or not. This film was the opening night film at the Tribeca film festival, a first for a fashion based film.  I wore this ensemble from Zara.  The jacket and matching skirt I have had for a few years now. The two together or apart can be worn over and over, proving useful season after season. I find that classic pieces like these make it real easy to  create a total look around them. The Zara skirt suit is such a strong look that can be dressed up or down and  make you feel fabulous like a good piece of cloth is supposed to.
