For the screening  of Hyena at the Tribeca film festival I wore this white denim shorts with the Chanel hat and jacket. This film was directed by Gerard Johnson and stared Peter Ferdinando as Michael Logan- a corrupt cop with a conscience. Trying to change  his ways after years of dodging the laws he’s meant to uphold. The film has an unfinished ending that is left to the imagination as to what really happens in the end. Thus prolonging the suspense. This was British drama at its best. The casts and performances were very  believable .

These days people are a little too cozy with the notion that denim is for all things. Not so. Never underestimate the power of denim, including when it doesn’t fit the situation. Denim can be sexy for a date. They’re ideal for running around on your day off or for a dinner party at a friends house. No matter how much you glam denim up , they are still jeans. For times like a screening at the  Tribeca film festival denim needs to be dressed up. This can be done with panache by paring them with pieces like the Chanel  tweed hat and tweed  jacket.

What is your favorite way to dress up denim ?
