Stella McCartney is everyones favorite fashion BFF in their heads. She is the cool girls designer to go to for her signature style. Which encompasses natural confidence, a sexy femininity and sharp tailoring .

I had the pleasure of meeting Stella   and her husband Alasdhair Willis at a  cocktail party held in her honor. Speaking with her  at the time she came across as very natural and personable. Exactly the  fashion BFF you want as a cool friend . This took place last year November 13th at the Alice Tully Hall at  Lincoln Center. Stella  was being presented with The Woman’s leadership Award by the Lincoln Center Corporate Fund.  It was an event that drew a starry crowd as could be imagined. Also seemed to be a Beatles reunion of sorts. With proud father Paul, Yoko Ono and Olivia and Dhani Harrison all turning out to raise a glass to the designer. After the award ceremony we dined on a three course vegetarian cuisine.

Stella has always been a vegetarian and therefore has taken the decision to never use any fur in her designs and creations. Stella dose however use wool, silk and other animal derived fabrics in her designs. Such as this Kimono inspired wool sweater.One can appreciate the concise lines and shape of the Kimono. It is a great piece for layering as well as a stand alone statement. The classic lines keep it modern and relevant  for today.
