The Phantom Society Gala is limited to close friends of the Rolls-Royce brand. The gala is legendary and  most highly  anticipated -exclusive event. On friday I was whisked away in a Rolls – Royce on my way to the Gala. Cocktail attire was suggested.

A cocktail dress is the obvious wardrobe choice. But what exactly is a cocktail dress? The definition is fairly broad : in years past, it was a semiformal frock with a hem falling anywhere just above the knee to just above the ankle.

For this event I took the opportunity  to indulge in this luxurious Roberto Cavalli cocktail dress.  Which was made with every girls favorite embellishment- beading.  This was the time to be as glamorous as possible. The look is strong and sophisticated. I transitioned to a more laid back look with the addition of the  Emanuel Ungaro jacket as a cover up. The daytime temperatures were warm but conditions grew colder as the evening progressed. As a result this was a comfortable choice. However the jacket gave the entire ensemble a semi formal look.  A semi formal attire allows  for some play-fullness and color.

With cocktail attire it is a time for real experimentation. You never want to look the same way.
