Bigger is better. That was seemingly the mandate when it came to jewelry for Spring. Making this the most choker- saturated season since the necklace’s hey day in the 1990s. The new versions seen on the runways brought structure to the forefront, as designers got playful with the bare canvas of a woman’s  neck. In turn the centuries- old accessory was reborn once again, as a show stopping outfit completer, evoking a fierce notion of modernity. Chokers were fashionable centuries ago in ancient Egypt. The jewelry made a widespread return in the mid 1800’s, as a neckwear of choice for ballerinas. Degas often included the detail in his paintings. Today the necklace looks best- with an off -the shoulder dress for an easy evening ensemble or top off a casual T- shirt and jeans with a thicker style in metal. All this attention to the face calls for a full  glamourous moment. And  glossy skin  to set the scene, giving an all over glow.
