Designers have always looked to muses for inspiration. Alexander McQueen who is arguably the most influential, imaginative and provocative designer of his generation, had several Isabel Bow who discovered him and promoted his first collection as well as Daphne Guinness. I met Daphne Guinness some years ago at a cocktail party she hosted at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.This was in 2011 for the Savage Beauty exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The exhibition has been their successful to date. Having drawn 662,00 visitors alone. More people than even Pablo Picasso  drew in the 1960’s for an exhibition at the museum.

While discussing fashion with Daphne I discovered that she obviously was not adverse to taking risks, the true mark of a muse. Loved trying new and different things another mark. She also admitted, like me that she sometimes tried things on backwards or upside down to see how  they would look. She of course was dressed in McQueen as was I. Her look became the more distinct and memorable because of the custom designed heel less shoes she wore with panache . Also she stood out with her resent two tone black bleached blonde hair.

These are the things that muses are made of, fearless choices, statement pieces that withstand the passing of time. Here I wear an Alexander McQueen black Skirt with side crinoline details paired with the Versace blouse and finished with the brown leather half driving  gloves. The proof is in the attention to details and bold chic choices.
