I will be curious to see what  Anthony Vaccarello comes up with at Saint Laurent. Saint Laurent  announced that Vaccarello will take over from  Hedi Slimane after four years at the House of Saint Laurent. Anthony Vaccerello is a Belgian designer who has a label under his own name which he manages and shows on the Paris calender. There seems to be an impetus to place young talent from various places in very lofty titles at vey lofty houses. This formula can provide an interesting opportunity for talent to not only refine but build its point of view  under the umbrella of another designer’s name. Vaccarello has a propensity for making clothes look like a literal interpretation of what it means to dress “sexy”. He has also managed to fit seamlessly with  a hard- to – achieve sense of cool – that he has built into his label. It appears for now that he will see that Hedi Slimane’s  mission  started four years ago is in fact compete.
