The power of glamour

Glamour is the power to rearrange people’s emotions, which in effect , is the power to control one’s environment .

In the not so distant past, glamour was about being an unapproachable, distant, creature of beauty. To achieve that look required over whelming artifice in every respect. Today we’ve evolved and broadened that concept into a much modern ideal. It no longer means simply aspiring to be an object to look at, a decoration. For me personally, glamour can mean being strong, professional, elegant, compassionate. Some of the women I find most glamorous are the most proactive about a whole range of issues. They exude a confidence in having a voice of their own.

Going back to the etymology of the word, “glamour”  was derived from the Latin word “grammatica” meaning schalarship: to learn, to think. To me, this original idea applies equally today.  We cast a spell of allure and charm by learning who we are and by expressing ourselves.

Glamour can come from the way you dress, but doesn’t mean over thinking and constructing  every look. Trying to hard can communicate a lack of confidence. A true sense of style is not just following fashion, but being unique. Having style is understanding the best way to present yourself- because you feel completely comfortable. It is being a participant in the world by contributing to it. It’s a whole, well- rounded experience and something to experience completely.
