A good designer loves a good challenge and creativity is fueled by limitations. Jil Sander is a brand with a strong personality and a charged legacy.  This is a very clear identity to confront says Rodolfo Paglialunga , who took the creative helm in 2014 of the Jil Sander house. He had to work around this to find a key for his own personal interpretation. This Jil Sander hat seems to be a step in the right direction. The look seems to feel at ease with the house’s codes. What comes to the table is a soft precision, a kind of clever smoothing of the rigorous standards defined by the label’s founder, the impossibly exacting Frau Sander, who set the bar quite high. This Jil Sander hat is classic in its essence, but very modern in its aesthetic, and with a fresh take. There is also a spontaneous vibe that is deceptive; at close inspection, the sharpness of cut reveals that Frau Sander’s  legacy is still firmly in place.
