As  a social fashion event there is one thing that the MetGala nails time and time again and that is new and innovative ways to wear and see clothes. This event is  Anna Wintour’s annual black tie event of the year.In  a nod to the Metropolitan  Museum’s spring 2015 exhibit, which opens this week”China Through the Looking Glass” the night’s events were China themed.

It is not only the party of the year to attend but a most visually appealing social fashion event.It has also gained a reputation of establishing the theme of each fashion season . This year it looked to the East for inspiration.

As a fashion enthusiast you need to be looking and studying the dresses  browsing around the wonderful clothes looking for things that you like and inspire you to add to  your  personal style.

For me it is this Alexander McQueen  coat worn as a dress drawn from the East. The coat explores the chic simplicity of the east. It is inspired by the refined draping of the kimono  with some  generous volume to create a comfortable but sophisticated look.
