Much of what I love about Chanel is the acute attention to detail and the ability to carry a story line in their clothes. This double breasted blue navy coat is one of my favorites. I was really excited to notice the sun god buttons referencing king Louis the XIV who was known as the sun god king, LeRoi Soleil. As a consequence his nobles were known to ceremoniously  wake him up in the morning and thus the” sun arose” before the day began. The house of Chanel carried on much of the spirit of Versailles in this collection .
